Our Story

Meet the Founder
Tony McCaffery (They/Them) – CEO & Lead Consultant

Tony's approach is deeply informed by their lived experience as a queer, multi-ethnic person of colour with multiple disabilities and forms of neurodivergence. Their unique perspective is shaped by experiences of childhood homelessness, the foster care system, and social mobility. Drawing from their rich heritage – which includes Indian, Somali, Celtic, and Indigenous Arctic ancestry – Tony brings authentic insight and understanding to their work in advancing equity and inclusion.

With a background spanning HR, talent development, the arts, and global leadership roles, Tony combines lived experience with evidence-based practice to create meaningful change in workplaces. They are a recognised speaker, consultant, and strategist in workplace equity and accessibility, dedicated to breaking down systemic barriers and ensuring that workplaces work for everyone.

Alexis McKenzie (She/Her)  – Associate Director

Having spent over 14 years working for a leading global financial services business, Alexis uses her extensive experience of business transformation, and project management to support the operational work of Diversity Scotland.  She successively provides a unique insight to many elements of our work ensuring current best practice on gender equality, women's health (including menopause), work-life balance and inclusive parenting, alongside a focus on religion and belief.

Andi Knowles (She/Her) - Consulting Partner

With an impressive career in the healthcare sector both as a clinical practitioner and EDI Lead, Andi is a skilled facilitator and advocate for mental health and psychological safety. Having led and navigated equalities programmes at complex healthcare organisations, including two NHS organisations, Andi demonstrates an enviable set of skills which ensure her facilitated sessions and consulting interventions are impactful and thorough.
